The annual Culture Night took place in September. Organisers were forced to get creative due to current restrictions and the team did not disappoint! Fingal County Council Arts Office invited Balbriggan artist Thomas Brezing to share his newly composed poem, detailing his painting process. Thomas’s artwork was also on display throughout the weekend of Culture Night for all of Balbriggan to see.

The highlight of September and indeed 2020 for Balbriggan was the commemoration of the Sack of Balbriggan. Our Balbriggan have been preparing for the 100th year anniversary for a long time, and though restrictions stalled a few projects, celebrations were still pulled off in mighty fashion! To mark the centenary of the Sack of Balbriggan, artist Subset was commissioned to paint this stunning mural in the town of Balbriggan.

Another beautiful addition to Balbriggan from a great team – our town would be nothing without our amazing volunteers. Great example of reuse from the Balbriggan community as an old boat is donated by Pat Dowling and transformed into a beautiful planter by a community effort!
