The Our Balbriggan Rejuvenation Office of Fingal County Council has established a Placemaking Fund.
This fund has been established to make Balbriggan an even better place to live, work and play.
If you are a group, business, club, artist, individual with a good idea on transforming a space, large or small, we want to hear your ideas.
Be the change – think local – get involved.
The placemaking fund was established with a view to:
- Improve the physical environment of the local area
- Enable a more accessible physical and built environment
- Enhance Balbriggan town centre through arts and culture
- Create a sense of belonging
- Increases opportunities for social connection
- Support new activities in public place’s
- Strengthen the community through learning new skills
- Create opportunities for a healthier lifestyle.
How will it work?
We will fund good ideas from a minimum of €2,000 up to a maximum of €6,000
Who can apply?
Community Groups, Business’s/ Business Groups, Clubs, Artists and Individuals who operate within Balbriggan.
What type of Projects would be suitable?
Unique events which would increase the footfall/ liveliness of the streets.
Environmental Projects/Greening Projects/Urban Planting
Public Art/Murals/Street Art
Creative Seating/Places to Meet/Spaces to Relax
Creation of Unique Events & Play Spaces
Other projects which will enhance residents/visitors experience in Balbriggan
Cleaner/ Greener / Safer
What do we aim to achieve?
To support good ideas to make Balbriggan an even better place
to live, work and play.
What is the Criteria?
Each project will be considered on the basis of the criteria set out below:
Evidence of the need for the project in Balbriggan and how it will add to our overall aim.
Evidence of Community and or Business Engagement and support for the project.
Evidence of the projects contribution towards supporting the local economy and the benefits it will bring.
Evidence of a well costed and thought out project.
Evidence of the projects sustainability following its completion.
In order to qualify for consideration you must:
lease, own or have permission to use any property/land etc.
