Improvement works in the Harbour continue in advance of the transformation of the Quay Street & Harbour area. New fencing has been erected prior to anticipated commencement in April 2024.
Donnelly Civil Engineering are working on the East Pier (seaboard) to reinforce coastal defences. Engineering surveys will commence shortly on the West Pier.
The enactment of Harbour Bye-laws on March 1st 2024 are set to protect fishing andimprove the environment for all harbour users and visitors, while boosting efforts to tackle the various issues around the Harbour.
Preliminary test sampling took place in the Harbour recently, in advance of the preparation of the necessary licences required for the proposed dredging works at this location.
