Harbour Road and Seapoint Lane Junction will close temporarily for resurfacing works, and the construction of a new step area.
It will close from Thursday, October 9 to Thursday, November 27.
Work shall take place between 8.00am and 6.00pm each day. No works shall take place on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Local access only will be maintained from Seapoint Road.
Residents of Seapoint Lane will still be able to access via Seapoint Road.
Emergency service access will be made available.
Traffic management and diversion signage will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians.
Please follow signage and exercise caution in the vicinity.
Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic –
Due to restricted clearance under the Irish Rail bridge, HGVs must use the following routes –
Northbound: From Seapoint Lane, turn left onto Seapoint Road, then right onto the R127 (Lawless Terrace/Market Green westbound). Continue straight along Market Green and, at the junction with the R132, turn right and proceed north. Turn right onto Quay Street and follow the route back to Harbour Road.
Southbound: From Seapoint Lane (Harbour side), turn right onto Mill Street and continue westbound. At the junction with the R132, turn left and proceed south. Turn left again onto the R127 (Lawless Terrace/Market Green eastbound). Continue straight along Market Green, then turn left onto Fancourt Road and right onto Seapoint Lane.
All other traffic may use Quay Street, subject to the height restriction at the Irish Rail bridge.
