Budding Balbriggan photographers are in with a chance to have their work featured in the windows of the Our Balbriggan Hub office.
The images in the Hub, which is at George’s Square between the library and the Bracken Court Hotel, change twice a year and photographers have until June to get snapping. The idea is to turn the Hub into an evolving canvas, displaying local artists and talent, but also reflecting how the people of Balbriggan see their town. Since the start of the year, the windows feature an image of Bremore Castle, taken by Ampika Currivan and an aerial shot of the town by Tony Healy. Last year, the lighthouse featured prominently, with a photo by Michael Stanley and an illustration by Alison O’Grady. Also featured was Yolanda Aguilo’s photo of her young son in the window of their house. To be in with a chance to be get your photo in the window of the Hub, post your pictures on Instagram and social media with the tag: #OurBalbriggan. A decision will be made in the weeks leading up to June on which photos to feature. Please keep sharing and tagging your wonderful images with the people of Balbriggan and further afield throughout the year, they really are appreciated. A photographic exhibition will be held later in the year featuring a wider selection of photography from local contributors. |
