In October 2020 Fingal County Council acquired the group of derelict buildings on Bridge Street, known locally as DeBruns.
The Council will be carrying out minor works to improve the aesthetic of the buildings and security of site for the foreseeable future, while working on the procurement of an Integrated Design Team to redevelop the site.
Following the appointment of the Integrated Design Team it is anticipated that the redevelopment of the site will go into the planning process in 2022, which will include public consultation.
The works that the Council will carry out will include decluttering the façade of the buildings, secure and paint the street façade of the buildings on Bridge Street, remove waste material from around the site and improve the security of the site to the sides & rear.
The redevelopment of site will include the development of new spaces incorporating a variety of uses into the overall vision to establish a new green corridor in the ‘Heart’ of the town, following the River Bracken, through Millpond Park, creating a new street edge and park entrance on Bridge Street, flowing down to a transformed Quay Street and transforming the heart of the town into a vibrant, sustainable, family friendly location.
